Community Reviews
All the bells and whistles!
reviewed on: 08/22/2016 by Alicia PThe community is always running a variety of activities for the residents. They offer a high staffing ratio to residents which is beneficial for the care of my loved one. It is a very clean community and offers three dining rooms. They have a physical therapy building within the community. The staff are very friendly and simply wonderful!
Review of Touchmark At Fairway Village - Vancouver, WA
reviewed on: 02/03/2018 by Jim E.When my wife entered memory care I was impressed with the caring and friendly attitude of the staff. Later, as a resident, I have seen that a conscious effort is made to create a family community here. All staff quickly learn the names of residents and quickly respond to requests. An effort is also made to involve residents in a wide variety of activities and turn to them to insure that the community is responsible to the needs of the residents. The residents respond positively.
A friendly, caring home
reviewed on: 06/12/2019 by AquaI will add to this review over time. First impression: The place is bright, comfortable, feels like home. The residents all seem genuinely glad to be here and the theme is unusually friendly. We have had numerous residents reach out to us as we toured. After we chose Touchmark and moved in, neighbors were dropping by for brief visits, information and invitations to meals and activities. Common area gatherings, socializing, and conversations are a constant theme. People just hanging out together. Cool! The staff are friendly and helpful from marketing, to move in, to manager, to restaurant floor manager to maintenance that handles room work order requests. I have noticed those who are out front all know our names. The room floor plans in Independent Living had more options than other places. The rooms and floors are quiet. The hall decorations are comfortable and home-like for the resident demographic. The A/C kept the rooms easily cool during the record high temps on our top floor room. They seem to be resident centric in that they can meet and seem willing to try hard to meet any request we might have and are flexible to orient individualized services on request. Unusually good 50 + gym with machines that use remote weight selections and a very nice pool / jacuzzi. The price seems to me slightly less than average in the area. It is going through remodel right now. Built in the early '90's, they are updating the building to expand and add more light to an already bright, cheery motif. I have seen afternoon happy hour social events with lines all the way down the hall for delicious looking food, wine, beer, soda and juice. As a non-resident family member, I was invited to join in. This kind of place can be intimidating to a new resident. They seem to be aware of this here, and are very good at putting their residents first; making them feel at home. And a very special shout-out and fist bump to Heidi, who is simply the best marketing advocate. She is the nicest, friendliest person - the difference maker in putting my somewhat fearful, conflicted parents at ease in transitioning over from their private home. A genuinely caring person (thank you!). I will update this review over time. So far, first impression, very impressed. Happy parents.
Review of Touchmark At Fairway Village - Vancouver, WA
reviewed on: 01/23/2018 by Barbara B.If you are looking for a place to thrive as your body ages check out Touchmark. I moved from Seattle to Touchmark at Fairway Village in Vancouver to be closer to family. In an environment that fosters care and respect for both residents and staff, everyone benefits. For those who need to be active from dawn to dusk there’s plenty to do. For the rest of us (introverts) there’s a lovely balance of activities and “me” time. On top of that I’ve developed a taste for oatmeal at breakfast — who knew... .... Everyone who comes to visit me in my new digs agrees — WOW, I could live here. I also know that assisted living and memory care will be available to me if that is needed at some point in my life. My advice to anyone serious about being part of a retirement community — check out Touchmark.
