I'm Home
reviewed on: 12/07/2018 by James DavisI immediately fell in love with Hidenwood the moment I walked in. The Staff and Residents won me over. The layout is beautiful. My apartment is large, clean and homey. There is a large theater, exercise room, the dining room is great. A Chef who is world class. Selections every day to satisfy any palate. Many substitution avail for lighter fair. I play the piano, so I now play twice a week for residents. Once in for residents and once a week in Memory Care. There is an exercise room with loads of equipment. The nursing staff is great. Doctors come in once a week to treat residents. I have a large family locally so I have visitors on a regular basis and an older sister that wants to move in. To sum it up - I'm Home, and happy.
friendly and clean
reviewed on: 10/29/2021 by Tanya E[name removed] was a great help in explaining how living at the Hidenwood would look & feel like. The atmosphere was friendly and clean and inviting. Apartment was appropriate size & amenities. Activities and outdoor area were appropriate amounts and varieties. Was glad to know the care provided can increase as needs change and no move necessary.
Things aren't what they appear to be
reviewed on: 01/07/2019 by GrievedIn one year there have been 3 Directors and staff shortages across all areas which adversely and sadly affect the quality of care and health of residents. Unacceptable! Beware of what may look and sound good on the outside but there are serious problems internally starting with poor leadership which affects residents and staff. There are some dedicated and outstanding staff workers but also many who need to be seated in the place of the residents and see how they feel about the care they receive. It gets even worse in the Memory Care Unit which is available at a high cost for unacceptable care and living conditions. Probably not much different from other retirement communities because it's all about profit and adding to our countries already broken health care system.
