Community Reviews
Pleasant Tour Overall
reviewed on: 07/24/2017 by AnonymousWe had a very nice tour of this community. It was a good experience. Everyone was very kind to my husband, and I. The community looked good, everything we saw looked well maintained. The staff was polite, and informative. Everything went well, and our went was a pleasant one.
My Dad Feels is Happy and Independent
reviewed on: 11/13/2013 by DaughterThey are wonderful. We haven't have any problems. My dad is a lot happier there. Every one is very nice. He likes that they don't treat like he is five years old and he really feels independent. My dad is a big complainer and the only thing that he complains about is the portion of his food. I really like Vicky and Judy, the women that run the front office. There aren't as many activities, which is a draw back. I wish they did more because it would prevent my dad from smoking so many cigarettes! Judy is the best greeter, if anyone is going to go and look they should ask for Judy. I still hug her every time I go and see my dad. They put him on the resident council committee so that he can feel like he has a say in what happens.
Lifestyle with a Flair
reviewed on: 03/04/2017 by KCRPet Friendly, very well maintained. Staff is well trained and very friendly. Rooms are well laid out but small for rent charged and have little storage areas. Only drawbacks that I can see are that only cable service is offered instead of Comcast, Dish or Direct TV. One community computer but no printer for residents. Heating and Cooling room units are noisy and leave hot and cold spots in room. The Activities planned by the staff keep the interests of the residents involved and excited about being involved. This is probably one of the premiere senior communities in Temple and is very homey.
Great job!
reviewed on: 05/12/2015 by Paul RichardsonAfter my father died, my mother had become somewhat anti-social...She has been a resident of Garden Estates for a little over a month now, and she is beginning to participate in some of the activities available. The staff here are the most friendly folks I have ever met....From Sandy and Judy in the admin. offices to Christi at the front desk, they seem more like family and have always tried to make Mom feel at home...I saw Judy sitting out front the other day with a resident, just visiting and watching the birds...How many front office folks have you seen take that time with residents?... The Med staff is always helpful and the housekeeping and Chef are all great!...Great food!!!...facility is always clean and does not smell bad like some places I have visited...Overall this has been a good experience and has given me more peace of mind that Mom is well taken care of when I am not available...Paul Richardson
Overall, we are very pleased with Garden Estates!
reviewed on: 02/08/2014 by AnonymousWe have been very pleased with Garden Estates, and I am very glad that my mother is there. The environment is clean, up-to-date, and elegant yet still remains warm and inviting. The overall atmosphere is warm and friendly. Everyone, both staff and residents, are friendly, helpful, and nice. The food is great; we have eaten there with my mother on several occasions. My mother is becoming more active and social every day and looks healthier after only one month. The price is comparable to other retirement/assisted living homes in the area. The most important element for me, however, is that all of the residents appear to be happy.
