'Buyer' Beware!
reviewed on: 04/02/2014 by AThomasI made the decision to move my mother (Alzheimer's) from an assisted living facility in Georgia to be closer to me in North Carolina last year. I LOVED HarborChase when I first visited. The staff was warm & friendly and genuinely caring. The facility itself was clean and in great condition. After 5 short months at HarborChase, I made another decision to move my mother out. Overall her care was awesome and I have no complaints about that. What I am unhappy about is that from day one, it seemed like management was constantly adding new charges to our monthly invoices. I went into the move thinking I would be paying one thing & each month it got increased. Not one month went by that I didn't question the charges or wonder why it kept getting more expensive. In December, they made the decision to program her for Memory Care during the day without consulting me first. Once this happened, the pressure increased to move her into the Memory Care Unit full time when a room became available. I knew that making this move would mean an even higher monthly invoice & financially I just couldn't do it. When I wouldn't agree to move her, management basically stated that they could no longer care for my mother. She is now in a small group home and is doing great!
Very nice place
reviewed on: 12/15/2014 by AnonymousWe're very pleased with how things have gone with Harborchase of Rock Hill. The staff are all very caring and professional, and they do a great job staying in touch with families. Their communications are very clear, and they'll get back to you with answers quickly. The facility itself is clean and well kept, and they do a good job with the meal service as well. I would recommend it to others.
A Blessing!
reviewed on: 03/02/2015 by Russ WatkinsFrom our first phone call for information to our first and subsequent visits we were were always impressed by all the staff we have interacted with. They have embraced my Mom and have treated her with dignity and respect and she is transitioning quite well into the Harbor Chase family. Kudo's to Kathleen and her dedicated and caring staff. This is a wonderful facility!
Friendly Tour
reviewed on: 07/06/2017 by AnonymousI had a nice experience during my tour of this community. Unfortunately it wasn't the one for us, but my tour went well. The community looked nice, and the staff was kind. Everyone was friendly, but I did find another community that suited our needs better.
Harbor Chase a Perfect Fit
reviewed on: 10/02/2016 by AnonymousHarbor Chase is a great fit for our mother. All the people who work there are friendly and loving. The facility is on one level with two wings. It is perfect for Mom, who is able to use her walker to get from her room to the dining room and the activities. The staff are there to remind her that it's time for meals, to encourage her to attend the current activity, or to help her get around. There are 50 or so residents in the assisted living part of Harbor Chase. Mom loves animals and one of her neighbors has a sweet little dog who comes to visit regularly. We are very happy with our choice.
