Our Tour Experience
reviewed on: 06/10/2021 by SusanOur tour was virtual, so it felt a little limited and was hard to tell what the community was like. I think they did the best they could for the situation. The ladies we talked to were wonderful. I had heard really good things about Oakleaf from someone I knew personally. But they did not have skilled nursing.
Spacious (halls and rooms), very help...

Great place for your loved one
reviewed on: 04/02/2015 by William KnowlesStaff is very friendly and professional. They display a genuine care for the residents. My father is in the memory care unit so this is important. Would like to see more in house activities as boredom seems to set in at times. Musical entertainment is bought in at various times. Also, the Life Enrichment Coordinator will take the residents in the memory care unit on bus excursions to various destinations in Lexington and Richland counties, usually once a week.
Too "lock down" for me
reviewed on: 10/04/2013 by SWThis was very nice. It was clear that here, mom would need to be in memory care and to me, that just didn't seem like a good fit. There was no smell but it felt closed in to me, I wanted my mom not to be locked into a place but have the freedom to go out. I remember they had all these recliner chairs lined in a row and they said some people liked that and some people didn't, and I guess I was one of the people who didn't.
Some medication mishaps, but they fix it right away
reviewed on: 10/02/2013 by DarleneI don't really have any complaints per se, I've had to follow up a couple of times on her medications. One time, she was given an incorrect medication that morning and recently she's been starting on metamucil everyday, and they didn't start that until very recently. They've been really good once I bring things to their attention and they always answer my questions promptly. It's been a big adjusmtent for her but she's happy at Oak Leaf and people have gone out of their way to make her comfortable, she's made some friends and she likes the staff. her only complaint, and this is probably not a valid complaint, but she says that they give her smaller portions than everybody else. She is getting good care and even though there ahve been some mishaps with the medication, the caregivers have about 30 people they look over so I understand that's going to happen, just as long as it's not everyday.
