Like having a second family
reviewed on: 01/23/2015 by judy dMy mother has been a resident at Shadow Oaks for almost 2 years, she is in the memory care unit, her care is outstanding and the staff and management is awesome. They are responsive to her needs-which is super because with Alzheimers she doesn't know herself what she needs. She is always clean and staff interact with the her and the other patients so well .It;s such a trying disease and some phases are harder to deal with than others but the staff is well prepared and so kind and patient . Both staff and management keep families well informed on changes in condition and have suggested things that might work for different stages mom was going through. My mother had surgery and had to go to another facility for rehab. she did miserable she became unresponsive to her surroundings and refused to eat or co-operate in any way. the staff at Shadow Oaks came to visit her daily and it was the only animation she showed at all. Fortunately she was able to return to Shadow Oaks and the minute she returned there all her animation and appetite returned. If you are looking for a place where you and your loved one will be treated like family-this is the place!
