Community Reviews
Highly recommend without hesitation!
reviewed on: 09/19/2020 by The Adams FamilyOur 94-year old mother and father experienced a life-changing medical situation that necessitated moving them (reluctantly) from a large colonial home in the suburbs to an assisted living facility. Maplewood's front porch apartment-style layout has a cozy, neighborhood feel that made them feel less "confined" and made the transition easier. Every one of the staff, including the very hands-on director, is warm, caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable in working with the elder population. They are very good at what they do! It is very clean and bright; the food is top-notch and the dining room "elegant casual". In recent months they have been very creative in offering the quarantined residents different activities. Our father is there on his own now after our mother's passing; they have gone above and beyond to keep him and the other residents engaged. Maplewood's communication with us is terrific. After touring several facilities, Maplewood was the best value and our parents' care there exceeded our expectations. It is such a comfort to know he is in good hands and we need not be concerned.
Nice Executive Director, My Tour Went Well
reviewed on: 10/20/2016 by AnonymousI had a very good tour of this community. The executive director was very kind and helpful. The community looked great, everything was very well maintained. The staff was kind and friendly. The room they showed us was nice looking, and it even had a patio. It was a good experience.
Wonderful Facility
reviewed on: 02/04/2018 by Chris GreenawaltMy mom was at Maplewood for only 6 momths, but during that time it was as close to being at home as one could expect. From the director, to the nurses and aids, Mom received excellent care and lots of love. The facility was always kept clean, as was Mom's apartment. The courtyard is beautiful with trees, flowers, and a waterfall. Mom loved siting there in the sunshine last summer. There are many activities for the residents ranging from group outings to different events on site. One of our favorites was Happy Hour! As good as the staff is at Maplewood, family must be involved, they can't do everything. Mom was well taken care of right to the end, at 94 it was her time, and we received lots of support as well. I would highly recommend Maplewood at Chardon to anyone looking for a place to care for their loved one.
Wonderful home for my mom
reviewed on: 12/15/2017 by ldolinarMy mother lived here for 2 years. She was very well cared for by a gentle and caring staff. She made nice friends and the activities were good. The staff is friendly and very helpful from the front desk, the van driver to the caregivers and assistants. We were very happy with the care and the kindness presented to my mother. I would highly recommend Maplewood of Chardon to anyone looking for dementia care for their loved one. We moved my mother from another place, which gave terrible care, so we were especially pleased at the level of care at Maplewood. We were able to have Hospice care in the end and keep my mother in her "home". Great place.
Maplewood is a good place for loved ones.
reviewed on: 09/01/2021 by R CThis is a relatively good community for the money. Sometimes they do not follow through with things that they should. A lot of the staff are friendly and easy to get a long with. Some of the staff are a little different. They have a lot of activities for the memory care unit to keep them active.
