Clean, Friendly Community
reviewed on: 09/18/2020 by LindaI would tell my friends that it seems safe. There haven't been many COVID patients during the pandemic in this community. The communication has been ok, I wish it would have been better. It seems our family is hearing more from our loved one about items, and not sure of the validity. The activities prior to COVID included were: movies, bingo, ice cream social, chair yoga, arts and crafts and dance.
peace of mind
reviewed on: 12/10/2014 by AnonymousIt's only been a month since my mother has been in there, so we are still getting acclimated and have somewhat limited experience to go on, but so far it has been a good experience. One of the main things that means a lot to me is that I know mom is safe, which gives us great peace of mind.
Beautiful and clean, but ....
reviewed on: 09/06/2019 by Michele ManheimerMy mom had lived at the Bristal Westbury for approximately 1 year. First, let me say the place is beautiful and immaculately clean. The food is excellent and she very much enjoyed every meal. The staff (from front desk, dining room, housekeeping and aides) were all wonderful, friendly, caring and kind. The Wellness staff was also top notch. However, my advice is to get everything in writing when signing the initial contract. We were told by a number of people in the executive staff (senior and junior) TIME AND TIME AGAIN that they would be able to provide my mom with certain services that she needed. It turned out they could not legally provide these services and we had to move her to another facility that had an Enhanced Care License. After we made arrangements to transfer her, it was brought to our attention that there was another Bristal who had that license. Had we known, we would have moved her there. It would have saved us much angst and heartache if the people who run the Bristal would get their their act together and their information correct.
Very nice looking community
reviewed on: 03/31/2014 by D BWe toured this location when we were looking into care options for my loved one. This place actually would have been our first choice, but unfortunately they did not have any opening during the time of our search. It's a lovely facility, and the staff were all very friendly and professional. We actually ended up selecting another Bristal community, albeit one a bit less conveniently located.
Better Than Expected!
reviewed on: 04/02/2019 by FeliceMy mom has been in the Memory Care unit at The Bristal at Westbury. She is still getting acclimated, but I do see a positive difference in her. They give each resident special attention, the food looks very good, the unit is clean and the staff couldn't be better. The thought of my mom leaving her home after 50 years was overwhelming for both of us. She seems to finally be adjusting, and speaks less of going home. I'm confident I made the right decision for her, and am grateful there is an option like this to provide the specific care she needs for her Alzheimer's.
