Comfort Loving Care
reviewed on: 11/08/2016 by AnonymousThe Lions Gate community has been a good fit for my loved one. He is receiving the care and attention he needs. The staff is very attentive and keep him safe. The place overall is very clean and well maintained. The room my loved one is in is very comfortable and fits his needs. The community provides kosher meals.
Nice tour
reviewed on: 09/28/2017 by AnonymousThis is a nice community and the staff did a very good job with our tour, they took their time showing us around and answering our questions. They have a lot of amenities to offer their residents here and I would recommend scheduling a tour.
A nice community, Mom is settling in
reviewed on: 12/10/2013 by DaughterI am very happy with the community so far. Mom is having a bit of difficulty settling in, but the staff are doing the best they can, and are very caring, courteous, and attentive. The food could be a bit better, but there's certainly nothing wrong with it. We also like that the community has a large Jewish population, which is helping Mom settle in faster.
Disappointed
reviewed on: 11/03/2015 by AnonymousMy family member lived in Safe Haven and I was very disappointed in the staff and activities. The staff are not versed in Alzheimer's/Dementia care and thus the unit is not geared to the direct needs of the residents living there. Lions Gate will only place a LPN in this highly specialized unit and not an RN/BSN (my best guess is that they are trying to cut financial corners for their own benefit). They have gone through quite a few activity directors that appear to do less and less with the residents. I would not recommend this home as I believe better care could be offered for the exorbitant prices charged.
Make sure you know what you are buying
reviewed on: 06/11/2019 by AnonymousWe moved our 94 and 93 year old parents into Lions Gate at the end of February 2019. They are in independent living, in a lovely apartment which was completely renovated prior to them moving in - cabinets, floors, painting, bathrooms and kitchen. The apartment is lovely. The grounds are lovely. The dining room is lovely (my dad complained mightily about the food, but apparently there's a new chef). HOWEVER, be aware that no one is actually watching out for anyone in independent living except family. You and your loved ones are totally responsible for any care that is needed. We now have to explore assisted living, which may or may not be available. Also, it has been difficult for them to meet people, since most residents have been there for decades and groups are established. It is also expensive, and there isn't a clear delineation of what you're paying for on a monthly basis other than dinner every night. My advice is to come armed with a laundry list of questions before committing.
