Community Reviews
A safe, positive place.
reviewed on: 11/12/2017 by Cheryl TorresMy mom was in the dementia unit - 2 East. The staff was professional knowledgeable, and caring. It was a great experience especially considering that our family had labored for years to keep Mom at home. It was heart-breaking to place her in a nursing home, but the staff truly made my mom and the whole family feel at ease. It was obvious that the nurses and the aides felt a true calling to work with people who need memory care. They were always positive and accepting of my Mom and her mood. When my mom passed, the staff was sensitive and embraced us as they led us through the sad process. When Heidy told me that it had been their privilege to care for my mom, I truly believed her. That was a tremendous gift to our family
Cozy and Inviting
reviewed on: 02/18/2020 by Paula R.Although we've decided to place mom closer to our home, I found Blair House to be cozy and inviting. I was warmly greeted by Terri Sullivan and the surrounding staff and, the memory care rooms I saw were very pleasant. It's great that they also have a nursing home side so residents can be easily transferred if needed. There was a male resident sitting in a lounge area when I arrived. He must have read my mind because, when our eyes met, he said, "It's good here. It's really good."
Not impressed
reviewed on: 12/16/2013 by SonI was not impressed by what I saw during our tour. It was an old building, and it just seemed dark and claustrophobic to me. The atmosphere wasn't what I wanted for my Mom. The care services seemed fine, and the staff were all perfectly nice, but the building itself left a lot to be desired.
Friendly staff
reviewed on: 04/14/2014 by Loved oneWe toured this location when we were looking into care options for our loved one. The gentleman that showed us around was very nice, and the staff all seemed friendly. However, they were lacking some of the amenities that we'd seen in some of the other communities we toured here, and the decor was a bit outdated.
Not The Right For Us, But My Tour Went Well
reviewed on: 08/03/2017 by AnonymousI had a nice tour of this facility. Everyone was kind, and friendly. From what I saw the community looked nice, and clean. The staff I met was polite, and they answered my questions. It was a good experience, but I did feel this was the community for my father, and his needs.
