Great place for Dad to live!
reviewed on: 02/26/2016 by AnonymousMy father moved in the week before Christmas 2015. I'm impressed with Garden Place. It's nice to walk into a place and see smiles from staff. The decorations in the common areas are bright and colorful. The dining room area is open and airy with lots of choices at each meal, salad bar, soup or the entrée or a different choice of entrée if desired. I'm not sure about the activities because Dad is a bit of a recluse. I think it might be helpful if the staff met with the people living there individually if they aren't participating in activities to find out what their interests are to see if there is something else that could be looked into. I know they have a meeting where they ask for ideas from people, but what happens if folk don't attend the meeting? Some may need to be helped to join in, but there have to be things they are interested in. He likes the music when guitars and accordions are involved and he likes the happy hour with hors d' oeuvres. Staff have been very responsive whenever we ask for help, like no volume on TV, need light bulbs in the ceiling lights and why is there a metal lock box all of a sudden for medications?
A Beautiful Place With Nice Staff
reviewed on: 12/21/2016 by AnonymousMy mom is her and they have been providing the care she needs. It is a beautiful place and it is the best environment for my mom. Her apartment is nice and she has her space and bathroom. The food is great and the staff go to her room to let her know it is time to eat or for an activity. They are really nice to her, they are kind people. She is getting the socialization and has plenty of activities for her to participate in.
Fantastic place
reviewed on: 11/29/2017 by AnonymousI love this place Garden Place in Waterloo. It is a fantastic place and everyone here loves it also. I have made many friends and participate in most of their activities like the bounce ball exercises, yoga, regular chair exercise, crafts, holiday events, bingo, and trips around. They provide three meals a day with variety of options. They have a nice apartment to live in and the facility has all the privacy you could ask for. How much more could a resident ask for?
