Marymount has been a game changer for my mom
reviewed on: 10/18/2017 by WenofSFMy mother has been at Marymount;s third floor memory care unit for about 2 years now. I have to start with the fact that my mother was coming from a previous elder care home, I won't name names here, and was not being taken care of AT ALL. My mother came to Marymount smelling of urine, with open sores on her heels, ingrown toe nails, teeth that needed to be looked at, unkempt hair, stressed and combative....she was in very bad shape. I have a very young special needs child at home and am not able to be as on top of things as I would like, I just don't have the hours in the day, so I really rely on her residence to take care of her day to day needs, as they are being paid to do. \nBack to my review...my mother arrived in very bad shape, I was stressed, skeptical, but knew that she had to moved from where she was. My questions to Kai were really about the staff, cleanliness and how tolerant the staff would be of my mother's bad attitude. I was assured she would be well taken care of. As I have visited her over the last two years she has been getting progressively better, if you can believe that! My mother has dementia, she is schizophrenic, can no longer walk and is extremely strong willed! She has always been extremely difficult to deal with and try to help or take care of...somehow Marymount seems to have cracked the code! As I said my mother was getting better and better, in that she smelled better, her skin looked better, her hair was always clean, her teethe clean, her sores healing, she gained a bit of much needed weight and her attitude was better-unbelievable ! The last time I saw her, just 2 days ago, she was in a great mood, we went to a Dr. appointment, she had blood work done and voila her blood work looked great, kidneys great, liver great, triglycerides great, no high blood sugar, no hypertension...etc... This is all in stark contrast to her health at her previous placement AND my mother was in a really good mood! My hat is off to Marymount for taking such good care of my mother when I cannot. I feel confident that she is in good hands and being treated with the utmost consideration and respect. Thank you so much Marymount.
A Much Better Place
reviewed on: 08/09/2017 by AnonymousI feel so much better after we moved from a friend out of the place she was to here. I am able to relax knowing that she is in a much safer environment and that she is not being neglected. The home is always clean and smells good. The staff is wonderful very caring and attentive and professional. She is now eating well the food is good. She feels more secure being here and that makes her feel happy. It is exactly what she needed for her to thrive
Not Quite Right for Our Needs
reviewed on: 09/12/2013 by RobinI thought it was okay. We had pretty much decided on another place when I went to see Marymount. It was a little more expensive but that wasn't the issue. My father-in-law needs more full time care and this place struck me as one more geared to people who could get around and just needed help with meds and things but were more independent than my father-in-law. It's just didn't fit our role.
Good Community
reviewed on: 01/14/2021 by AnonymousThere are parts of the carpet that are pretty worn. The community is a pretty good place. It's fairly priced compared to other places in the market.
really great
reviewed on: 07/10/2015 by AnonymousMarymount Villa is a very nice facility. I like the way the elevators are close to the rooms. The entire layout really is very nice. I do not have any complaints about it. They seem to do a really great job.
