Great staff, very knowledgeable and helpful
reviewed on: 02/26/2014 by KimMy mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia last year and after having in home health care, we decided to move her to an assisted living facility to increase her activities. I spent the first 4 days and nights with her (they were very nice for letting me stay for so many days in a row). I thought everyone was very helpful and patient with my mother and knowledgeable on how to handle her moments of confusion. When I called to have something fixed in her room, they were quick to come and very friendly and helpful. The activities were good but I found out quickly that my mother didn't have the ability to concentrate as well as some of the other residents, so it was difficult for her to be involved in some of the activities. Unfortunately, we also decided that my mom was more advanced in her dementia and would be better suited in a retirement home with less residents so she could get more ongoing care. But for residents with physical limitations, this is a great place and they have great staff working to try and make the experience the best it could be. I would like to go there once I need to move!!
It stood head and shoulders above everything else...
reviewed on: 02/19/2014 by Family MemberThe food is probably about a three. I think it's a good idea to visit and meet the people. See the operation to really get a feel for it. It stood head and shoulders above everything else that was in the same price range.
Nice Doesn't Mean Capable
reviewed on: 03/25/2015 by AnonymousThe temperature of the room is extremely hot that you can't breathe, this is the third time. The temp control is in the next room and that resident has control. They know she is a diabetic but they are handing out non sugar cookies and meals are not exactly diabetic friendly. They are very nice but maybe not so capable of memory care.
On Par
reviewed on: 08/23/2013 by PamelaEverything was on par. They have walking that my aunt does and going to museums. The food is okay. She said the food is just okay but she's used to a high sodium content and they do lower sodium.
Regency Park Astoria
reviewed on: 10/24/2013 by Gary WannlundI felt They provided excellent care for my parents. They were only there for a month because they moved in with anotherfamily member. They both needed full care and probably their condition was too advanced for assisted living.
