Community Reviews
We are so lucky.
reviewed on: 10/01/2015 by Laurie FaureBixby is the perfect home for my father. The staff and residents could not be more caring and friendly. He feels at home there and his needs are met immediately. I looked at many facilities and BKT far exceeds any of them. It brings much comfort to me as well as his daughter who makes sure he is happy and taken care of.
Bixby Knolls Towers, independent living in Long Beach, California is a great place to live.
reviewed on: 04/21/2014 by MimiI am living at Bixby Knolls Towers , independent living, in Long Beach, California for almost 4 years. The apartments here are beautiful. There are Studios, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom apartments and all of them also have fully equipped kitchens even though they serve 3 meals a day in the main dining room. Lots and lots of closet space. Rent includes linens, towels, toilet paper, etc., basic cable TV, all utilities except phone. Cleaning lady cleans your apartmet once a week, 3 gourmet meals a day in a luxurious dining room. Laundry room on the premises. Car service to doctors appointments, shopping, etc., many activities. If you become disabled and no longer can be independent you can move to the Assisted Living section which is next door to the towers. This really is a very comfortable place to live and the surroundings are beautiful. The people are friendly. The staff is great. I really like it here and I can highly recommend this place.

Mom's new home
reviewed on: 06/11/2019 by GraceMy mother-in-law moved into the Towers a few months ago. This 14 story facility is an independent living facility. Prices vary according to the floorplan of the appartment and the number of the floor (2 - 14). She was welcomed by many of the residents and is slowly making friends. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that basic housekeeping was included in the rent. Weekly cean sheets and towels along with mopping, dusting and vacuuming certainly relieve me of some of the responsibility of helping to keep the appartment clean and fresh for Mom. She does what she can but there are mobility challenges. We enjoy eating in the dining room several times a week; even though there is a nominal fee for this privilege, we feel that it is worth it to be able to spend time together. The meals are adequate, better than some restaurants. Food is served buffet style. Service is three times a day and the wait staff are very accommodating. Dietary accommodations can be arranged. There are special holiday meals and many weekly outings. Check it out for yourself and see if this would be a good fit for your loved one.
