They do offer a lot of activities here though, as well as physical therapy. I chose them mainly because they don't allow smoking on the property... however, there is a designated area where I see the employees smoking.
Great Food
reviewed on: 07/25/2013 by Satisfied CustomerThe food is great. She really loves the food here she always calls me just to tell me what she had. She really looks forward to all the meals. It seems like they have a big variety of meals some are home like cooking others are restaurants style cooking but she says they are all very good. The price was lower then the comparable communities and their apartments were more spacious. Everyone here is very nice and helpful and they keep an open line of communication so I know how she is doing all the time. If I need anything I just give them a call and I can get straight to a manager. The residents seemed very happy here. The apartments have their own kitchen which is nice if they chose to cool any meals. She likes to cook herself breakfast so she doesn't have to get up too early.
comfortable place, meal plan needs improvement

In terms of areas they can improve, they have changed the residents meal time (dinner has to be over by 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday) which I am not too happy about that. It is still new, and my parents have good days and bad days, and are still learning their way around and getting used to it.
Brookdale Christown is a great choice

The facility is conveniently located, truly lovely, and well maintained inside and out. The front desk is very responsive, and maintenance issues in their apt. were addressed same-day. The dining room feels like a restaurant, and the food is very good! We searched for their new home for some time, as my parents are on a limited income. Christown offers the same amenities as other CCRCs we visited at half the cost. My parents are settling in nicely, and Mom is eager to join the painting class that just started. We are happy to know that the memory care unit is well maintained, cheery, and well staffed, as my Dad will likely need to move up to that unit in the future. I encourage others to tour the facility and see for yourselves. Our entire family is happy with my Mom's choice of CCRC.

They only offer 2 meals; continental breakfast in their cafe, but she can always get an egg their too for 40 cents. Lots of amenities, but also a distance from my house. 502 sq. ft. 1 bedroom units going for $1495-1695. Depends on where they are located. She said she could get us a large 1 bedroom in the farthest building for the $1495 price. Those are 700 sq. ft. Jewish family and Children's services meets there. None of these facilities has a lot of Jewish people, but they may have more. Personal laundry svcs. would be $10 a load. Phone would be $25 per month LD included.
