Excellent Residence for a loved one

The staff was well trained and caring from the bottom to the top. I highly recommend Hearthstone Estates in Lakewood plus it's very reasonably priced..

reviewed on: 09/22/2013 by Natalie NAfter visiting some very large communities with independent/assisted and full nursing care it was a relief to walk into Hearthstone Estates in Lakewood NJ. Fist impression was it was clean and homey feeling. There are 44 residents each with their own small studio type apartment units. The staff has very little turn over and the administrator is very thorough with nursing degrees in dementia and geriatric care. The rest of the staff are enthusiastic and very good with the residents. My mom has been there now for over a month and is settling in very nicely. They provide 3 home made meals by 2 gourmet chefs. They are have daily social events for the residents such as exercise, book club, glee club, card games and bingo as well. They go out once or twice a week to certain shopping places and restaurants as well. My mom already went to a baseball game at Blueclaws stadium. So far my mom and i are very happy with Hearthstone Estates.

He was only there for a short time before his needs increased, but Jackie, John, and the staff were great overall. I was very surprised when Jackie called us to see how things were going, even after we moved my loved one. I will say that some of the nurses were certainly competent, but could have been more sensitive. Otherwise, it's a really good community, and I'd recommend it.

reviewed on: 06/29/2020 by Pat HThe staff was very on top of getting the residents clean and keeping their hygiene up, whether that be through assisting with bathing or changing sheets. The personal care was extraordinary and the community always smelled fresh. The staff were very friendly. Every time I walked in, there was a group engaged in some activity. They had music and outside entertainment available and they were very creative with how they kept the residents busy. They were very accommodating with the residents and made sure they did their best to adjust to each individual's needs. The management were great too from the director to the nursing director, they were all loving and caring people. Hearthstone Estates was worth the price and it was never astronomical.
